New Portrait Drawing

This is Les, aka Elsie, who moved into my village some years ago. Elsie because his middle name is Colin…which makes his initials LC…it  was his nickname when at school.

There are many strings to Les’s bow, as well as being a designer, photographer, writer, speaker, Les decided about ten years ago to launch his own one-man, creative magazine. Going through many potential names, one day his old school nickname popped back into his head, so the magazine Elsie was born.

“visual cornucopia of stuff that inspires, intrigues and excites me…I hope it does the same for you”

New portrait drawing

A head study of Ed, added to the drawings page and a continuation in doing without colour with the sole intention of dealing with light and shade. Photo taken on my iphone whilst having a pint and talking nonsense in the local.

Charcoal and pencil portrait drawing

This is Phil who arrived in and now lives in my village. I first met up with Phil in my local pub and have since become good mates.

Another lesson in my dormant drawing skills and my latest drawing which I have added to a seperate page on my website, a lesson in light and shade where the use of colour is eliminated and where a black and white study stands on its own without being held together by colour.

Portrait of the Golfer ‘Rory Mcllroy’

We are going to be gripped by the Open fever this week as the World’s greatest golf tournament gets underway at Royal Portrush. I hope that Rory Mcllroy will be victorious as I have a spot for Rory having painted his portrait recently.

This is the sort of bespoke piece that I can do for you if you are a golfer, or any other type of sportsperson or a general portrait of yourself come to think of it.

The reason that I chose to do a portrait of Rory is that he is a household name and recognisable by many and shows the likeness I can achieve.

Give me a call on 07746 001904 and I will explain the process – in the meantime, good luck Rory!
