‘Castle Ruin’ Doddington Hall Doddington Cheshire, you will find it on the A51

‘Castle Ruin’ the title of this painting is of Doddington Castle (Delves Hall) Part of the Doddington Hall Estate. Doddington is situated only a few miles from my house which lies on an old coaching road which runs from Chester to London on the A51.

You can see hall which sits behind a lake as you pass the drive along side the road ( A51) which takes you up to the estate.

As you travel along the road passed the main entrance to the estate you can just make out the top of the castle across some fields and never realized at the time that it was a castle or even part of the estate, let alone the historical significance of the place, at one time it was used as a garrison for the Parliamentarians during the 1642 –1651 English civil war. http://www.castlesuncovered.com/england/doddingtoncastle.htm.

An oil painting of Llyn Gwynant and Yr Arran,in the Nant Gwynant Valley, North Wales

Llyn Gwynant is a natural lake situated in the Nant Gwynant Valley in  Snowdonia, North Wales. It is a very popular destination for kayaking and canoeing and in the summer season is a popular place for campers. With it’s beautiful landscape, one could spend a lifetime painting scenes of Wales and no doubt I will be downloading more images of my paintings of Wales in the future.

‘Peckforton and Beeston Castle’ from Bunbry Cheshire’

I painted this scene for a client sometime ago who lives in the Cheshire countryside. It depicts the two castles in the distance across fields situated on the outskirts of Bunbry. As Bunbry lies on the Western Edge of the Cheshire plains I decided to paint this scene, with the castles in the distance, with plenty of sky in the style of the Dutch Masters.
