‘Dartmouth Castle’ Squally Weather Coming In’

You can take a boat trip away from the castle which was begun in the14th century to protect the town and harbour of Dartmouth against French raids during the Hundred Years War,

There is a staging just below the castle where a boatman takes visitors to the castle back to Dartmouth harbour.

As the weather turned for the worse and there was no one else waiting to go back to the harbour, I asked him to take the boat out so I could get the perspective of the castle that I was after, lucky for me the weather was raining and turned quite murky only to add to the drama of the painting.
